12 Kilometers Of Roads In Obosi To Get Rehabilitation

Twelve kilometers of roads in Obosi, Idemili North Council Area will be rehabilitated by Anambra State Government. The Executive Governor of Anambra State Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo gave the assurance when he embarked on about 12 kilometers tours of some worst roads in Odume Obosi, Awada Obosi and Owellaja Obosi Communities in Obosi, Idemili north Local Government Area.

Governor Soludo while been conducted round the communities by the President general of Obosi and stakeholders in Obosi said, “The purpose is for me to have a first-hand feel of the nature of these roads, the extent of the environmental challenges, the flooding they experience and hardship the people go through, so that it will help me to dimension the problems visa versa the challenges all over the state, visa versa the resource constraints to be able to prioritize very well.”

Governor Soludo further said that going through these 12 kilometer of roads have given him some perspective. There are parts of the state that I go, and can’t believe there are still places like this, some of these places we have gone today happens to be some of these areas or even worst, Governor Soludo concluded.

The Governor also stated that environment is Anambra no one existential threat, currently, we have flooding in about three major Local Government Areas where hundreds of thousands of people are been displaced, about thirteen communities were sacked by flooding which he described as an emergency that the state is cramping with and dealing with the issue of IDP camps inorder to resettle and give them some comfort. “These are annual rituals for Anambra and a threat we believe that both State emergency and NEMA federal agency are dealing with” the Governor concluded.

Governor Soludo reassured that his government is responding promptly and responsibily to the threat. It will be recalled that Governor Soludo during his inaugural speech on the 17th of March 2022 declared a state of emergency on the roads and have awarded about 20 new roads within his six months in office, and intervention works ongoing on many other ones in the state.

Governor Soludo has also promised to award a total of 220 kilometers of roads before the end of 2022 fiscal year.
