Umahi Declares 2022 Year Of Extraordinary Empowerment

~ Insists he cannot stop building for the future

The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engineer David Nweze Umahi has restated his administration’s commitment to bequeath enduring legacies to future generations of Ebonyi people.

Governor Umahi made the commitment during day two of the 7-day prayer declared to find the solution to challenges facing the State and Nation at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki.

He commended the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ebonyi State Chapter led by Reverend Father Abraham Nwali for being a willing tool in the restoration of peace in troubled areas of the State.

“Let me thank CAN so much for their support, our CAN in Ebonyi is unique, it is important you know your source and God is our source. Any time we are challenged, CAN has always been there for us, this administration is the administration that is predicated on Divine Mandate and God brought us at a time like this to preserve life and we are not owing this State anything, we have surpassed our promise.

Governor Umahi, while observing that his administration has surpassed his campaign promises, assured that the #Endsars empowerment fund would soon be distributed while efforts are in top gear to commence the construction of the over 170km Abakaliki Ring in the best of quality.

While insisting that no bandit was after him, Governor Umahi said he would not cease supervising his projects as he is committed to finishing what he has started.

“We will anchor the ship of this Government and we will accomplish all that God wants us to accomplish. When you have your heart on God, there is nothing any man can do to you. Someone told me to stop supervising projects but I said to him, never, nobody, no power can stop me from supervising the projects because they give me joy and when I don’t do it, I will have a headache.”

He announced the plan to convene a series of stakeholders meetings in the coming weeks to find amicable solutions to the various disturbances in parts of the State.

Governor Umahi, who declared 2022 as the year of extraordinary empowerment, appealed to Ebonyi Youths to cease attack on Security Agencies to avert further blood bath in the State.

In his admonition, the Methodist Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Bishop Lawson O. Elom urged the people to cling to God in prayer to cross over the present chaotic developments across the country.

“God is our refuge and strength, because of this, we will fear nothing, This God makes war to cease, in a chaotic situation, he will come around and the situation will cease because he is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.”

He urged the people to pray for the Nation’s leaders for God to redirect the nation to the path of peace and tranquility.
