National Leadership of the Labour Party formally presents the Party’s Candidates for the 2023 General Elections in Anambra State and hands them over to the State Leadership of Party, calling for collaboration between candidates and Party leaders in order to achieve the expected resounding victory.
Performing the exercise earlier today at the Hollywood Event Center in Awka, Anambra State, the Labour Party National Chairman, Chief Julius Abure ably represented by the National Organizing Secretary, Chief Clement Ojukwu emphasized the significance of the 2023 General Elections and the need for Anambra State to vote massively for the Party stressing that the presidential aspiration of Mr Peter Obi is garnering tremendous acceptance and support in the various parts of the Country including the North thus, Anambra must show enormous solidarity to their son, brother and Ex-Governor.
On his part, the Anambra State Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Ugochukwu Eneh expressed the readiness of the Party in Anambra State to galvanize huge amount of votes in order to ensure that Peter Obi gains the expected supports from his home-state adding that the victory movement shall also include other elective positions: Senate, House of Representatives, House of Assembly inclusive.
“We are here to strategize on how we can get at least 95 per cent of votes in Anambra State for our candidate, Mr Peter Obi.” – Eneh he added.
Nevertheless, the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Senator Dr Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) speaking on behalf of the Candidates described the team as victory-bound and further disclosed that the present structure of the Labour Party in Anambra State is made up of well-experienced people who collaborated with Governor Peter Obi to establish the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Party and entrenched effectiveness and benchmark in the governance of the State.
In his words: “What you see here are some of the very best of Peter Obi’s team, who helped steer Anambra State during his days as governor.
“Nigerians from all over have accepted Obi as the one who can salvage Nigeria. People are working every day, tirelessly to make Peter Obi the President. The rest of Nigeria has taken away from us the job of canvassing for Peter Obi, so we will follow them and make a President.
“Nigeria is collapsing, and we need to join hands to salvage her, and we believe that the man who can do that is Mr Peter Obi.
“In no distant time, we shall return to our various constituencies and begin to interface with the people at the grassroots and we expect that our people will be glad to receive us because the Labour Party is coming to save Nigeria, including Anambra State” – Sen. Umeh added.
Also present at the auspicious event were: the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi represented by former Secretary to the State Government, Mr Oseloka Henry Obaze; and the Party’s National Assembly Candidates: Hon. Dr. Tony Nwoye (Anambra North Senatorial District); Mr Uche Okonkwo (Idemili North and South Federal Constituency); Chief Andy Azike ( Aguata Federal Constituency); Prof Lilian Orogbu ( Awka North and South Federal Constituency); among others as well as Anambra State House of Assembly Candidates namely: Dr. Festus Chukwuemeka (Anambra West Constituency), Lady Ndidi Mezue ( Ekwusigo Constituency), Hon. Osita Ozalagba (Anaocha II Constituency) and Hon. Ilo Humphrey (Njikoka II Constituency) etc.
