CITYPOST – A community in Anambra State has banned APGA, APC, PDP, LP and others from campaigning in the area, in protest for 24 months of power outage.

Political parties for the National and State Assembly elections in Anambra state have been warned not to come for campaigns in Adabebe village Amawbia following two years of darkness in the area.

Adabebe villagers and residents in the area have been relocating to other villages following the collapse of an old power transformer that has been in use for thirty years now which has occasioned the failure of power supply by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company EEDC.

This threat is coming as the village is shopping for the sum of ₦4.5 million for the installation of a newly procured transformer to service the area..

According to the spokesman of the village Nze Uchenna Chukwuka, political activities would not be allowed in Adabebe village until power supply is restored to the village.

“We have resolved to drive away any National and State Assembly campaigns by political parties and their candidates.

“This has become necessary because in the last two years we have not had electric power supply in Adabebe and the old transformer has gone bad so we already have a new one that we are trying to energize which will cost about N4.5 million, yet nobody is responding to us”

Chukwuka contended that despite letters shared to people and politicians, non has deemed it fair and just to come to their aid, rather they keep asking members of the community to vote for them”
