2023 Elections: Support The Emergence Of Igbo Man As The Next President Of Nigeria, Ohaneze VP Tells Ndigbo

The Vice President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo World Wide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene has called on Ndigbo to support the emergence of Igbo man as the next president of Nigeria in 2023 general election in the interest of fairness and justice.

Chief Okeke-Ogene made the call at the ongoing 2022 Igbo Day celebration, inauguration of Anambra State Executive of the organization and awards day holding in Awka.

Chief Okeke-Ogene stressed the need for Ndigbo to jettison selfishness, in fighting, sabotage and work for the emergence of Nigeria president of Igbo extraction in the 2023 general election as Nigeria deserve the best and Igbos have the best candidate in the race.

In his remarks, the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Anambra State Chapter, Chief Chukwuemeka Udodeme who lamented that the living condition of Ndigbo in Nigeria is pathetic explained that Igbo day celebration was fixed to commemorate the tragic events of September 29, 1966 that ultimately led to the civil war and provides the opportunity for Ndigbo to properly articulate their collective aspirations in the political leadership of Nigeria.

Chief Udodeme maintained that the ceremony also provides the platform for Ndigbo to galvanize actions that will advance the Igbo cause within the Nigeria’s polity.

On his part, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Sir Chido Obidiegwu stressed the need for Ndigbo to come together to support a presidential candidate of Igbo extraction who will reposition Nigeria and allileviate the sufferings of Ndigbo, even as he described the ceremony as a step in the right direction
