2023 Population & Housing Census In Anambra: NPC To Employ 30,000 Field Functionaries

The National Population Commission, NPC, is to employ about thirty thousand field functionaries for the 2023 Population and Housing Census in Anambra state.

The Federal Commissioner of the Commission in charge of Anambra, Mr Chidi Ezeoke disclosed this at the NPC Headquarters in Awka, during the inauguration of the online E-recruitment portal for the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

Mr Ezeoke informed Ndi Anambra that the commission through the online recruitment process requests for applicants for different categories of field staff for the forthcoming census.

They are: facilitators, training centre administrators, monitoring and evaluations officers, data quality managers, data quality assistants, supervisors and enumerators

Pointing out that organization of the census process remains key to the success of the 2023 Population and Housing Census, the state NPC Commissioner promised that the commission is on course and will continue to be fair and transparent in its activities concerning the next year’s census.

Mr Ezeoke emphasized the need for the state residents and the entire southeast zone to make themselves available during the census, for their own good and disclosing that next year’s census exercise does not require people to return to their various hometown to be counted.

Contributing, state Director, National Population Commission, Dr Joachim Ulasi while asking interested persons to go ahead with their registration using the NPC e-recruitment portal, “http://2023censusadhocrecruitment.nationalpopulation.gov.ng”, disclosed that the NPC e-recruitment portal which has been opened since twenty-seventh October this year, will be temporary closed on the seventh to thirteenth November, and will be permanently closed on tenth December, 2022.

Dr Ulasi revealed that applicants must have at least O’level certificate to be eligible to register for the twenty-seven day exercise.
