2023: Uche Nwosu Sends Warnings To INEC, Nigerians

Uche Nwosu, a former gubernatorial candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo state, has warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Nigerian electorates not to use their votes to plunge the country into deeper socioeconomic crises during the 2023 general elections.

Nwosu stated that while the momentum for the 2023 election is positive, INEC should not take the people for granted and undermine their votes in the election that will produce the next president, especially since Nigeria requires a president who will promote national cohesion and drive the economy forward.

Now, the founder of the Ugwumba Centre for Leadership Development in Africa, stated that INEC is critical to the election’s success.

“The only thing that could derail this election is INEC, but if INEC does the right thing, people will be happy.” Everyone will be happy if the election is free and fair, and the votes are counted.

“Where problems arise is when people’s votes are not counted and when people vote and the people’s vote becomes useless at the end of the day. If we want to get it right, we need leaders we can trust and who we believe can change this country. It is now that we are faced with so many presidential elections. We will not begin praying to God to repair our land until after the election.”

“The Christians will begin to pray, the Muslims will begin to inquire, and even our traditionalists will pray for good governance.” All it takes is for us to do our part, which is to use our voting cards to elect the leaders of our choice to all elective offices. This is the time for decision-making, and when things happen, you will ask yourself, did I go here, why did I make this mistake?” May we never make a mistake that will turn this country upside down, the former Imo state gubernatorial candidate stated. This is the best time to select good leaders from the president to the Senate to the Federal House of Representatives Governors and state assemblies, that can man the position of leadership in this country.”
