51st Coronation Anniversary: Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, Ejidike Hails Sporting Monarch, Alaafin Of Oyo

 

Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike,J.P has identified sports as one of the propelling factor that has been upholding and sustaining one of the foremost monarch in Nigeria, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba, Dr. Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi in maintaining peace and sustainable socio-economic development in the empire.

Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike who doubles as the National Patron, Nigeria Football Supporters Club was one of the invited dignitaries to 51st coronation anniversary of His Imperial Majesty , Oba, Dr. Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo held last Saturday in the ancient palace in Oyo observed that the reign of Alaafin has not only liberated Oyo town but impactful in the entire Oyo State and Nigeria in general.

” I have great respect for Alaafin of Oyo, a keen sports monarch who derives fitness in boxing exercise and gymnastics which makes him to be as fit as a fidle at the age of 84 years. No doubt, the spirit of sportsmanship which is devoid of vegeance and any acrimonious has been a factor cementing unity and love among the people of Oyo”, sounded Ejidike.

The sports philanthropist added “Perhaps the peaceful qualities of Alaafin must have informed the President of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari in appointing Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Adeyemi III as the Chancellor of University of Maiduguri for the second term. Indeed, Alaafin of Oyo is a great king that worth celebration”.

It was a moment of emotional feeling when Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Adeyemi III prayed for Nigeria Pillar of Sports Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike as he paid homage and obeisances to the royal father during the coronation ceremony.

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Ejidike revealed his intention to sponsor a youth competition in Oyo State in the name of Alaafin of Oyo as his contribution to support the peaceful reign of His Imperial Majesty.

Chief Ejidike was accompanied to Oyo by the Chairman, Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Prince Olayioye Shola Ajide and CEO Sportpro Bayour Issah among other members.
