Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has congratulated Dame Virgy Etiaba, who turned eighty years today, November 11, 2022.

Dame Virgy, who hails from Nnewi, was a former deputy governor of Anambra State that later became governor following the inglorious impeachment of her principal then, Mr Peter Obi standing in history as the first woman to become an executive governor in the history of Nigeria.

In a congratulatory letter released in Awka, Mrs Soludo described Dame Virgy as “a courageous breed and one of the few women who broke the glass ceiling of gender impossibilities.”

She recalled the octogenarian’s short spell in office as the Governor of Anambra State, pointing out that “she soaked in the pressure, being the first woman to hold such position at the time, and set herself apart as a leader and mother.”
