The APGA govt has dared Prince Engr Arthur Eze to account for 18 million dollars rural electrification project awarded to him during the military era. This is part of the ongoing altercations between the Ukpo billionaire and the APGA govt.
The call by Prince Engr Arthur Eze on gov Obiano to account for the LG funds in the state has continued to generate negative reactions from the APGA govt. Their latest onslaught was accusing Arthur Eze of misappropriating the rural electrification projects in communities in Anambra and Enugu states.
The APGA govt has activated its media team to unleash media attacks on the Price of Ukpo. Yesterday at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka, the Governor’s Media Team held a meeting possibly to coordinate the responses to the call by Prince Engr Arthur Eze on the governor to account for the LG allocations.
Immediately after the meeting, Evang Chinedu Obigwe Akaekpuchionwa who is an aide to gov Obiano and also a self styled coordinator of APGA Media Warriors accused Engr Arthur Eze of embezzling the $18 million dollars rural electrification project in 70 communities in Anambra state and 20 communities in Enugu states.
He also accused Engr Arthur Eze of embezzling another $25 million dollars rural water project in 120 communities in Anambra state.
Evang Chinedu Obigwe stated thus;
“It’s a well known fact in public domain that Arthur Eze has penchant for undertaking Capital projects without finishing them. He is the CEO of unfinished projects.
“How many people still remember that during the military regime that Arthur Eze was awarded $18million Dollars Rural Electrification project for 70 communities in Anambra State and 20 communities in Enugu state without completing them. If that project was executed to completion ,electricity problem in those 70 communities in Anambra and 20 communities in Enugu would have been a thing of the past but as at today those communities are still living in darkness. “Arthur Eze was also given a $25million Dollars Rural water project for 120 communities in Anambra without completing it.”
In all the attacks against Arthur Eze by Obiano and APGA Media since his call on the misappropriation of LG funds, the governor’s Media has failed to state what the governor has done or is doing with the LG funds. They ve only resorted to abusing and levelling counter allegations against one of the most respected elder statesman in igbo land.
The meeting at Jerome Udoji Secretariat Awka yesterday and the accusations against Arthur Eze of embezzling both water projects and rural electrification projects purportedly awarded to him during the military regime is part of the coordinated media strategy to divert attentions from the core demand of the whereabouts of the LG allocations in the state.
