OGIDI—In furtherance of her LGA tour, the leading aspirant for the November 6 governorship election, Uche Ekwunife, has met with PDP Idemili North delegates saying that even before the election proper that she has crafted an agenda that is focused on revamping the education sector. Ekwunife promised that her government will rejig the education curriculum to produce people capable of solving contemporary world problems.
Ekwunife made this known while interfacing with party delegates of Idemili North. She told delegates that the time to get the state working again is now. The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator, however, stated that she is a winnable candidate to reposition the state. Ekwunife said that she is developmental minded, experienced and knowledgeable to become the next governor.
Speaking further, she said that since the inauguration of 9th Assembly that she has been updating the zone on her performance. Ekwunife noted that she has attracted unprecedented infrastructural development to the zone as well as employment to the teeming youths. She advised the delegates to X-ray all aspirants and make an honest decision, noting that she is confident that she is the most qualified.
While welcoming the Senator, the PDP Chairman of the LGA, Mr. Alex Iremeka thanked the Senator for the projects she is doing in communities across the zone. He noted that Ekwunife is an experienced lawmaker and prayed God to bless and protect her.
In his remarks, the former speaker of ASHA, Rt. Emeka Anyanato described Ekwunife as an exemplary lawmaker. He said that the upcoming guber election is the best time to have a female governor. He advised delegates to ensure their support and votes are for Ekwunife.
On his part, Barr Chukwudi Chuma noted that the LGA support for Ekwunife is sacrosanct. He said that the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology is known as a competent lawmaker in the entire Nigeria. Everything needed to make a governor is in Ekwunife, therefore Idemili North will ensure she emerges the party’s candidate, he concluded.
Similarly, other stakeholders that spoke, praised Ekwunife for her achievements describing her as a sellable candidate. They noted that Ekwunife remains the only aspirant that can dislodge the APGA led government once she emerges as the candidate.
Others present include, former majority leader of the state assembly, Hon Joseph Dimobi, former MD Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, former commissioner for women affairs, Lady Henrieta Agbata, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nweri, former ASUBEB Chairman, Dr Rose Nwankwo, Chief Vincent Odum (African Chief), the Chairman Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Ichie Edwin Ubboh, former Reps member, Hon. George Ozodinobi (Ajajanze), the DG Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Chief A. A Anagu, Hon Izuchukwu Obi (Chinyelugo), Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs ify Chinwuko among others.
