In her bid to become the next Governor of Anambra State, the leading aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Ekwunife has emphasized that she will run an accessible and all inclusive government if elected.
Ekwunife stated this in Idemili South local government, while interacting with the party ward and local government delegates of the council. She maintained that governance requires a capable, experienced and sound minded individual that will bring the desired change to the people. She told the delegates that the course of governance requires an individual who will be accessible to the public at all times
The Senator thanked the PDP members for all their support and said that her determination to govern the state is inspired by her quest to bring attitudinal change in the political scene of the state. She urged the delegates to go for an aspirant with a record of success, saying that as a federal lawmaker, her achievements are visible and verifiable.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman Idemili South, Mr Ndu Ikeokwu welcomed Ekwunife and her entourage and described her as an amazon who has distinguished herself as a worthy legislator. He described the Senator as a woman of character and affirmed that she has all it takes to win the election for the party.
In his remarks, a former Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Emeka Anyanetoh said that Ekwunife is a woman of substance and excellence. He further said that the Senator has many projects in the council area, stating that as a federal lawmaker who has performed well for her constituents, she will definitely do well when the saddle of leadership of the state is bestowed on her.
A former Rep member, Chief George Ozodinobi reinstated that all the aspirants jostling for the ticket of the party are all qualified, but the party must go for an aspirant that can win the election. Chief Ozodinobi maintained that Ekwunife possess the quality
Former chairman of the local government area, Chief Sylvanus Abasilim said Ekwunife who is representing them at the National Assembly has performed excellently well in all the nooks and crannies of the district, saying that he has no reservation that Ekwunife will do well as Governor.
In his vote of thanks, Mr Sunday Madumelu declared that with Ekwunife as the candidate of PDP, the era of being in opposition will be bygone because she will bring victory to the party.
The gathering which held at Ile hall in Ojoto was attended by many PDP stakeholders in Idemili South including Sir Godwin Adichie and Chief Tony Nnaji.
Others present include, former majority leader of the state assembly, Hon Joseph Dimobi, former MD Anambra State Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, former commissioner for women affairs, Lady Harrieta Agbata, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nweri, former ASUBEB Chairman, Dr Rose Nwankwo, Chief Vincent Odum (African Chief), the Chairman Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Ichie Edwin Ubboh, former Reps member, Hon. George Ozodinobi (Ajajanze), the DG Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Chief A. A Anagu, Hon Izuchukwu Obi, Legislative assistant to the Senator, Mrs ify Chinwuko among others.
