At Ukpor, the headquarters of Nnewi South Local Government Area on Saturday April 21, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu was received with same enthusiasm witnessed at the other 19 venues of the LGAs he has already visited as part of his tour and notification of interest to run for the candidature of his great party, the PDP for the November 6 Gubernatorial election otherwise dubbed Anambra 2021.
“You have given me massive support since I started my political journey in 2011 and have consistently re-elected me into the House of Representatives as your representative in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
“On the strength of that confidence we have showcased to ndi Anambra from my 10 years in office that we can replicate why you Christened me Mr Project on the bigger picture to the benefit of the entire state,” the lawmaker began.
From over 50 roads attracted within and beyond his Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Constituency to the seven bridges therein, through the ecological and erosion control, housing estate, power, empowerment, COVID-19 interventions, skills development, acquisition and training centres, education enhancement, medical interventions and the gigantic Nnewi Automatics Industrial Park stationed within three communities, the audience comprising of all 18 LGA party executives, 17-member of the ward executives of all the 20 wards of the LGA and two Stakeholders each from the 20 wards did not need much to be convinced that the man they supported when they didn’t know much about him has indeed more than delivered to be entrusted with a bigger responsibility.
Coupled with the fact that the aspirant in question has the pleasing humility, adorable accessibility, appreciable knowledge of statecraft and the incredible work ethics to be completely trusted, agreement was unanimous from the different remarks by many in the packed hall that PDP couldn’t have wished for a better candidate to present to ndi Anambra in June.
