The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, April 8, 2021, joined the entire Ukwulu Community in Dunukofia LGA, Anambra state, friends and well-wishers of Maduka family to mourn late Morocco Maduka.
The late Highlife music legend famously known as Eze Egwu Ekpili was globally celebrated for his music. The Anambra-born musician who started his career as a highlife musician at a very young age until his demise had more than five albums to his credit, popular of which was Asili 98.
The funeral which was held at the deceased country home, Ukwulu had in attendance many former and present government officials, traditional rulers, academics, fans and musicians across the country.
Speaking at the funeral, Ekwunife described the late Highlife musician as an iroko and a rare gift to humanity, saying that the community, Anambra state and Nigeria at large had lost a great soul. She noted that many were entertained by the deceased Highlife music across the globe.
Speaking further, the Igbo-Ukwu born Senator said she listens and enjoys Chief Morocco’s music. Ekwunife said that the deceased was her constituent whom she was very proud of and his demise has left a big vacuum in the family. She prayed God to give the family the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Reacting on behalf of the family, the immediate elder brother to the music legend, Mr. Linus Maduka thanked the Senator and her entourage for their presence. He said he knew his late brother was proud of Ekwunife and promoted her for her giant strides in politics through his music. Mr. Maduka prayed for the eternal rest of his younger brother.
Ekwunife also on behalf of her family, campaign organization and good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended condolences to the entire Maduka family and all those affected by the loss.
