Azubogu to the Catholic mothers on the occasion of their 2021 Mothering Sunday
On behalf of the good people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency, that I represent in the Green Chamber, and Anambra state at large, my family and I felicitate with all mothers and potential mothers on the auspicious occasion of this year’s commemoration of Mothering Sunday by the Catholic family.
Suffice it to observe that the place and role of mothers in family development is so critical that we cannot but deeply appreciate the enormous sacrifices they daily make for the benefit and growth of their respective homesteads at curves like this.
Motherhood is indeed a vocation that require a combination of diligence, humility and commitment to entrenching the right values on wards entrusted to their care; hence a herculian undertaking quite demanding on their time at a period the challenges of fending for the home front is no longer entirely left for malefolk.
On this occasion of the 2021 Mothering Sunday of the Catholic community therefore, I passionately urge all fathers to strive to complement efforts by their partners in progress at the home front (mothers) to make their homes a better microcosm of the larger society. This is necessary in view of the frightening level of moral decadence bedeviling humanity at the moment; which itself is primarily a reflection of death of requisite values at the home front.
Perturbed by these thoughts, it is my resolve that if elected Governor of Anambra State by the special grace of God, policies and efforts targeted at reinventing cherished values in homesteads and learning institutions shall form part of the fulcrum of the policy thrust of my administration. Because if we get it right at the family unit, we shall have succeeded in laying a solid foundation for the evolution of an egalitarian society.
Once again, I wish all mothers the very best of time with their respective families today and always.
