— Restates Commitment To Extend Democratic Dividends To The Underprivileged, And Bridge The Gap Between The Rich And The Poor
— As Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye Hails Ekwunife For Offering True Representation
Adazi-Nnukwu community was agog as the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, on Monday, April 26, 2021, in furtherance of her week-long projects commissioning and inspection tour commissioned another 3-bedroom bungalow she erected for Mr. and Mrs. Chizoba Nduagubu at Adazi-Nnukwu community, Anaocha LGA.
Present to bless the completed project was the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Awka, His Lordship, Most Rev. Jonas Benson Okoye who had performed the ground breaking ceremony for the project which was flagged-off a few months ago.
Addressing the gathering, Bishop Okoye decried the level of untold hardship in the country. He stated that what the Senator is offering is true representation, a representation which according to him goes at the heart of addressing the needs of humanity. The Bishop noted that the housing projects went beyond Adazi-Nnukwu as he is aware of similar projects in the Senatorial District.
While stating that he is proud of Senator Ekwunife, Bishop Okoye stated that with the kind of representation Ekwunife is offering, there is nothing she seeks from the people that they wouldn’t grant her.
Speaking shortly before the commissioning, Ekwunife re-stated her resolve to provide a leadership that is fair, just and empathetic to all. She noted that the need to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor had inspired her to in a special way extend democratic dividends to the less privileged.
The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator expressed delight over the timely completion of the project. She appreciated and acknowledged God for using her to achieve all she has done in the zone. Ekwunife thanked the people of Adazi-Nnukwu for their support and promised to complete the ongoing projects in the community.
Welcoming the Senator, the President General of the community, Ichie Francis Madubike ably represented by Mr. Anthony Obijindu lauded Ekwunife for erecting the beautiful edifice for the beneficiary. He appreciated the Senator for assuring that the ongoing road project she attracted to the community will be completed. “By the special grace of God you will emerge the next governor of the state”, Ichie Madubike told Ekwunife.
On his part, the traditional ruler of the community, Prof Augustine Obiekezie (Adama Adazi-Nnukwu) represented by the Chief of Amata clan, Chike Ezimorah said that the community cannot thank God enough for the gesture Ekwunife extended to the community, noting that she is a vessel of God’s blessings towards the people of Anambra state. He prayed God to continue to bless Ekwunife.
In his remarks, the member representing Anaocha Constituency I in the state assembly, Hon. Ebele Ejiofor commended the Senator nicknamed “Madam Project” for her giant strides. He assured Ekwunife that all delegates from Adazi-Nnukwu and by extension Anaocha LGA would vote for her on the day of the party primary.
Talking on, Hon. Ejiofor thanked the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology for facilitating federal government relief grants for the people of her constituency. The State House lawmaker however urged those who are yet to benefit to visit Senator Ekwunife’s liaison office at Awka for assistance.
