There was a heavy protest yesterday at the Abuja office of APGA. The protest from information available to AIF Media was by a group led by Hon Chucks Okafor, a former House of Assembly member from Oyi.
The group which calls itself Save APGA Movement stormed Abuja and headed to the APGA office with placards. On getting to the APGA secretariat, they blocked the entrance and began to demonstrate. An eye witness said they numbered over 200. And they all came from Anambra.
A source at the Abuja office of APGA told AIF Media that the group stormed their office yesterday when the party’s NWC was about to hold a secret meeting convened by Oye. On sighting the protesters, Oye was whisked away from the building through the exit end.
Hon Chucks Okafor who later addressed his group and few APGA officers that managed to come out warned that any attempt by the cabal to impose a preferred Aspirant on APGA will vehemently resisted.
In a video sent to AIF Media by a source in Abuja, Save APGA Movement insisted:
1. That the party must conduct a free, fair and credible primary election.
2. That the Ward Chairmen, Ward Secretary, Ward Youth Leaders, and Ward Women Leaders should be automatic delegates.
3. That the attempt by an individual to sit in the comfort of his hotel room to compile a list of delegates to the Governorship primary will be vehemently resisted by our group.
4. That if Oye and the governor allow the cabal to impose a candidate on APGA, that there will be a mass defection from the party.
AIF Media investigation reveals that Save APGA Movement is made of foot soldiers of APGA and that if their demands are not met, APGA will be a party with leaders without the led.
