Showers Of Blessings As Ekwunife Commissions And Hands Over Another 3-bedroom Bungalow To Mrs Mercy Emonye In Agulu

— Pledges To Do More To Uplift Women

It was a moment of joy in Umuifite village Agulu, Anaocha LGA, when the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife commissioned and handed the keys to a standard 3-Bedroom bungalow built for a less privileged woman in the community, Mrs Mercy Emonye.

The edifice is among the numerous housing projects sponsored by Senator Ekwunife in her zeal to ameliorate and provide succor to the downtrodden in the society.

Speaking at the gathering which had in attendance the former deputy Governor of Anambra State, HE Chief Abolle Okoyeagu, Ekwunife thanked the people of Agulu for their enormous support over the years, she appreciated those who nominated the project beneficiary for choosing someone that is truly indigent.

Ekwunife said she believes in charity, emphasizing that she is fulfilled and satisfied that someone will be enjoying the house. She noted that nothing is more greater than putting smiles on the faces of people. While stating that the building projects were designed for constituents who do not have hope of owning a house in their lifetime, Ekwunife assured the gathering that she would continue to invest in projects and programmes that impact positively on lives of the people.

The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator reiterated her resolve in championing the course of the women at all times, maintaining that women are the beacon that shapes societies around the world.

Expressing her profound gratitude, the beneficiary of the house, Mrs Mercy Emonye thanked God Almighty for the gift of Ekwunife whom she described as a woman with a compassionate heart who has wiped away her tears and suffering. The woman who couldn’t contain her tears said she has already lost hope of having a comfortable shade to shelter her head, but the distinguished Senator came to her rescue by giving her shelter. She said that praying to God to protect and sustain the Senator has remained her daily routine, emphasizing that Ekwunife has created an indelible mark of honor in her heart.

Mrs Emonye maintained that for Ekwunife to have remembered her in her condition, God Almighty will always remember her. She fervently prayed that her quest to become the next Governor of the state would become a dream come true.

On his part, the traditional ruler of Agulu community, HRM, Igwe Innocent Obodoakor thanked Ekwunife for her giants strides in the town, including the ongoing perimeter fencing of Agulu Grammar School and other projects, stating that the town will always give her unflinching support in her governorship aspiration.

The Chairman of Umuifite village, Mr Chidozie Nwankwo said that Ekwunife’s legacies in Agulu will forever stand the test of time. Mr Nwankwo thanked Ekwunife for wiping away the tears of the woman, recalling other ongoing projects facilitated in the town by the Senator saying he had no iota of doubt in the capabilities of the Ekwunife to deliver as governor.

On her part, the Chairlady, Agulu Women Wing, Mrs Chinyere Okafor-Okeisi said that Ekwunife didn’t only build the house for Mrs Emonye, but also for all the women in Agulu. She said she is yet to see a person that has passionate and kind heart towards the downtrodden than Senator Ekwunife. The community women leader dedicated Ekwunife to the Almighty God and promised that the women of the town will always stand with her.

The event also had in attendance the PDP Chairman Anaocha LGA, Chief Jude Onyeanwuna Ezeani, member representing Anaocha I Constituency in the state assembly, Hon Ebele Ejiofor, Chairman Senator Uche Ekwunife Campaign Organization, Ichie Edwin Ubboh, PDP Chairman Agulu Ward I, Azuka Okafor, Ward Youth Leader, Jonathan Obiesie, Secretary Agulu Ward II, Nonso Valentine Okoye amongst others.
