The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, felicitates with Amb Elijah Onyeagba, PhD as he celebrates his 100 days in office as the Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to the Republic of Burundi.
Ekwunife hails Amb Onyeagba for his zeal, passion and dedication to leadership. She notes that in just 100 days, the Harvard, Wharton and Oxford trained economist has blazed the trail in diplomacy by pioneering the first ever Nigeria-Burundi Joint Commission amongst other laudable achievements aimed at improving trade and investment between the two countries.
The Chairman Senate committee on Science, Technology and Innovation urges the young and performing ambassador whose experience spans through banking, real estate development, public policy research and analysis, amongst others, to continue to bring his proven academic and administrative capacity to bear in strengthening the ties between the two African nations.
Ekwunife, on behalf of her family and good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District congratulates Amb Onyeagba. She prays God to grant and protect him as he continues to provide unblemished service to the nation.
Amb Elijah Onyeagba was nominated at the age of 42 as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the East African country by President Muhammadu Buhari. His nomination and subsequent confirmation by the Nigerian Senate received wide commendations by many who recognized the Enugwu-Ukwu born diplomat for his youthful vigour, personal, career, academic and leadership accomplishments. He is an economist by training with over 17 years experience in corporate, retail and mortgage banking.
