What you need to know about house demolition in Enugu on Friday

By Mark Ngene

Enugu airport perimeter fence destroyed by Architect John J Emejulu

The property situated along Eziokwe Street, off Nike Lake road, Enugu, stood on a water way, needed to give way for public safety and was demolished in compliance with a valid court order after it was duly served on the occupant of the house – ECTDA (Vanguard)

The agency says the demolition was not in reprisal to Architect John J. Emejulu’s destruction of Enugu airport perimeter fence, over which the Federal Government has vowed to deal with him decisively for wilfully destroying a national security asset belonging to over 200 million Nigerians.

This serves the so-called Emejulu right. The Federal government has shown its might, which I believe is a tip of the iceberg. For an individual to destroy govt property that is a national security asset is madness.

He should pay for this strange attitude. Enugu residents are underming the powers of government because of the present governor’s humility and penchant for peace. After reading the Aviation Minster’s comments, I just told myself that this J.J Emejulu will pay for his stupid action. This is an airport every Igbo man is praying for its completion by the Buhari govt; this selfish element overwhelmed with business interest had the guts to destroy the perimeter fence.

The entire Igbo leaders went to the Villa because of the airport and got N10billion for the project and this man could not reason with the Igbo leadership on our collective interest.

The FG must have directed that his house should be demolished since he too demolished its property and houses owned by individuals like him.
