Ndị Anambra and residents of the state have been urged to protect and maintain government facilities in their areas.
Speaking in Awka, the Vice President Ọhaneze Ndịgbo worldwide Chief Damian Okeke Ogene said this would justify the resources spent on the projects.
Paul Ezeoke reports that Chief Okeke Ogene said development of the communities and the state in general is a collective responsibility of the government and the people, pointing out that protecting what has already been put in place would attract more projects that would accelerate development across the state.
He also stressed the need for communities to uphold communal development spirit for which Ndịgbo are known, to complement what the government is doing and raise standard of living in their areas.
Chief Okeke Ogene expressed satisfaction that many people of the state are responding to the government’s call to extend their businesses to the state, noting that establishment of industries and other business ventures would expand opportunities and boost revenue growth in the state.
Also speaking, a former President General of Nnobi Town Union Dr Mike Omenugha called on communities to take ownership of Infrastructural facilities in their areas to achieve the goals of impacting on the lives of people.
Dr Omenugha noted that protecting Street lights and other electricity facilities would further enhance efficient and effective security network across the state as well as scale up socioeconomic activities and night life services that would empower more people.
He called on landlords and business owners to install security lights in front of their houses and business areas to light up the environment and deny hoodlums advantage of darkness.
