IWMF Announces Scholarship Fund

Promoting the work and advancing the role of women in the news media across the globe is critical to transparency and a diversity of voices. The Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists, the first funding initiative of its kind, enables the IWMF to dramatically expand its support of women and nonbinary journalists.

Application Deadline: The Fund for Women Journalists accepts applications on a rolling basis. Applications may take up to 6 weeks to process.

Eligibility: To be eligible, you must;

  • be a woman and nonbinary journalists of any nationality.
  • be interested in Journalism as your primary profession.
  • have at least one year of professional journalism experience with a track record of publishing in non-student outlets.
  • hold a previous degree certificate with remarkable results.
  • be proficient in written and spoken the English language.

Application Process: The applicants are required to submit an application on the online portal. The system allows applicants to log in and saves work before creating a final submission.
