Tinubu Campaign Director urges Biden to disregard Chimamanda’s open letter

Director of Media and Publicity for the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, Bayo Onanuga, has called on President Joe Biden to disregard the open letter written by Chimamanda Adichie, in which she criticized the congratulatory messages sent to President-elect Bola Tinubu by the United States and British Prime Minister. Adichie’s letter was published in The Atlantic and titled ‘Nigeria’s Hollow Democracy’, where she accused President Biden of prioritizing stability over democracy in Africa.

Onanuga criticized Adichie’s letter, saying it was written as a result of her emotional attachment to her tribesman, Peter Obi, who lost in the elections. He took to Twitter to urge President Biden to ignore the letter when it gets to his desk.

The official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission saw Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress emerge as the winner with 8,794,726 votes, while Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the People’s Democratic Party and Labour Party came second and third with 6,984,520 and 6,101,533 votes, respectively.
