Daily News Reporters has intercepted a petition from the Isuaniocha community to Governor Chukwuma Soludo, signed by the President General and the traditional ruler of the community. The petition refutes what it describes as a misleading and malicious publication allegedly sponsored by Tony Onyeagolu against Barr. Chijioke Ozumba, the Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Council, and Igwe Peter Uyanwa, the traditional ruler of Ukwulu.
In the petition, the Isuaniocha Development Union (IDU) condemned the false allegations aimed at tarnishing the reputations of Barr. Ozumba and Igwe Uyanwa, both of whom were tasked by prominent businessman and philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze, to mediate and restore peace in Isuaniocha following prolonged leadership and security crises. The community described the accusations as baseless, emphasizing that the two mediators had acted in good faith to resolve disputes in the best interests of Isuaniocha.
Furthermore, the IDU debunked claims of financial misconduct and abuse of power leveled against Barr. Ozumba and Igwe Uyanwa. It reaffirmed their integrity and commitment to peace, accusing Tony Onyeagolu of orchestrating a smear campaign to discredit their efforts.
The petition urged Governor Soludo to disregard the defamatory narratives and instead focus on ensuring stability in Isuaniocha by addressing the root causes of conflicts rather than being swayed by misinformation.
