With special response to this development, I can safely state that the original intention of the sponsor of this write-up was not solely to commend Prof. Soludo’s efforts but appears to push a particular committee report that some believe is not reflective of the broader interests of the Isuaniocha community.
This is a case of a proverbial “he-goat when you pursue it from farmland, it will put head to yam barn to destroy farm crops.” Some residents of Isuaniocha are concerned that Anthony Onyeagolu and a few of his supporters may be advancing an agenda that could significantly alter the identity and governance of the community.
This is similar to a drowning man in a deep sea looking for any available object to hold on to. It also brings to mind the proverbial millipede that was stepped on, yet the one who stepped on it is the one crying for help, while the injured millipede is left in pain with no one coming to its aid.
This is a case of a desperate man running from pillar to post, moving from one place to another without anyone actually chasing him except the law.
These were the words of one noble man of Isuaniocha community, Ichie Osondu Agwuike, who spoke to our field reporters in Awka regarding the publication. He described it as another instance of what he views as misleading narratives circulating within the community.
According to Ichie Agwuike, a similar publication was made by the same group a few weeks ago, directing it at Mr. Governor in an attempt to discredit two notable men of integrity and honor under Prof. Soludo’s government. However, he believes they fail to understand that governance is not just about tactics and speed but about sincerity and facts—qualities that define our academic professor and Governor, the pride of Anambra State.
In the referenced publication, Anthony Onyeagolu made allegations against certain individuals, claiming they were fueling crises in Isuaniocha for personal gain—accusations that many believe lack merit. Despite this, they have now shifted focus, calling for the implementation of a certain committee report.
Inordinate ambition and desperation appear to have caused them to lose focus, resulting in publications that some residents have dismissed as misleading and lacking concrete evidence.
Analyzing this issue further, there are concerns that the committee report being referenced may have been influenced by certain interests within the government, including Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, whom some believe is sympathetic to one side. If they truly believe in this report, why then did they go to Engr. Arthur Eze in an attempt to sway opinions, yet failed to convince him?
It has been alleged that a financial transaction of N30m took place during discussions in Abuja, though there are conflicting reports on the circumstances surrounding it. Now, instead of focusing on genuine reconciliation, certain individuals are sponsoring narratives designed to divert attention and distort facts.
There are claims that certain individuals are presenting a particular committee report as representative of the entire Isuaniocha community, despite the lack of formal endorsement from the traditional ruler and the President General. If such a report genuinely existed and had community-wide backing, wouldn’t it be the statutory duty of these recognized leaders to present it to the Governor?
According to Amamchukwu Ezinne, a resident of Isuaniocha who was contacted by our field reporters in New Jersey, all these recent narratives cannot erase concerns regarding past incidents in the community. He stated that ongoing conflicts should not be used as a smokescreen to evade accountability for unresolved matters.
Many believe that for peace to return to Isuaniocha, key individuals involved in the past conflicts should take steps toward reconciliation and accountability. Amamchukwu Ezinne advised that rather than engaging in what he describes as diversionary tactics, Anthony Onyeagolu and his associates should focus on genuine restitution to pacify the polluted land (Ajana Isu), particularly for the innocent blood lost since 2018.
He further opined that traditional practices in the community emphasize restitution as a path to peace, and some argue that no amount of financial or political influence can override these customs.
There are reports alleging that a particular location in the community has become a base for certain individuals engaged in questionable activities, raising security concerns. If any individual should be held accountable for actions that have disrupted the peace of the community, many argue that due process should take its course.
He went on to say that one day, the full truth about the Isuaniocha crisis, dating back to 2018, will be revealed, exposing the real players behind the conflict—particularly regarding the tragic case of the late Angus Okoye.
When our reporter reached out to the President General of the community via phone to get his thoughts on this online publication, he dismissed the news as another misleading narrative propagated by the same individuals seeking power and influence. He stated that their goal is to divert attention away from the real issues at hand regarding the Isuaniocha crisis.
He appealed to Mr. Governor to use his good offices to:
- Restore peace in Isuaniocha by addressing ongoing attacks against innocent community members who refuse to align with the actions of certain individuals.
- Address the growing security concerns, as some allege that a particular location has become a hub for organized violence.
Many in Isuaniocha hope that efforts to address the crisis will not be overshadowed by narratives they believe are misleading or driven by personal interests.
The President General also promised our reporter a full interview in the near future, where he intends to reveal detailed accounts of the Isuaniocha crisis. He emphasized that, as a key stakeholder before assuming his current position, he has substantial evidence both pictorial and documented to support his claims for verification.
