This year will present Ndi Anambra another ample opportunity to go to the polls and right the wrongs. The conversation of who becomes the next governor has long begun, and the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, is leading the gubernatorial race.
The traces of performance, unprecedented Projects from Ekwunife whose cerebration for the betterment of the society via representation is renowned, stands her out from the pool of aspirants.
In the news – on Monday last week – was Ekwunife’s visit to two traditional rulers from Old Aguata communities, Umunze and Ufuma respectively. The Senator emerged at the palaces to abreast and seek for blessings ahead of the coming election.

Like Mbazuluike Amaechi, like the traditional rulers. None disappointed their benign status. The truth was upheld.
Welcoming Ekwunife to the palace, HRH Igwe Promise Eze reckoned that, the Senator has placed herself ahead of her equals by all standards, describing her as a daughter loved by all. The customary leader said that he has known the Senator for many years as a representative of wits and experience.
Truth is, what the traditional ruler better addressed as Abilikete II of Umunze remarked was a known fact about the woman who rose to prominence after breaking the string of low-grade representation more than a decade ago.
Talking on, the Immediate Past Chairman Traditional Rulers Council of Old Aguata Union stated that they will want the A-grade Senator to be the first elected female governor in the state. He was to further tell Ekwunife that, upon given the mandate, if she repeats the feats she achieved in the chambers- Green and Red- her name will be written in gold.
The spirited Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology had praise overflowing for the monarch for his royal blessing, words of encouragement and fatherly role these past years.
Nothing different happened in Ufuma, Orumba North, when the doyenne of the Senate emerged at the palace of HRH Igwe Chika Uchime, Diji III of Ufuma.
Speaking, Igwe Uchime said that Ekwunife is a great woman of capacity who understands the true meaning of representation. He noted that the people of Ufuma have been supporting the Igbo-Ukwu born Senator, however, he advised that Ekwunife should adopt an all-encompassing government if she wins.
Concluding, the traditional leader prayed for the Senator and wished her well in the guber race.
Similarly, the Senator thanked the monarch and promised to restore the dignity of traditional institution if given the mandate.
