Gov Obiano: The Last APGA Governor – AIF

AIF Media

In 2003, Peter Obi was relatively unknown. Ndi Anambra voted for him because of Ojukwu. Though the election was rigged but in 2006, his mandate was restored.

Then in 2010, Ojukwu who was almost on a sick bed, made it to the campaign ground where he asked ndi Anambra to reelect Peter Obi as his last wish. Our people listened to his appeal and Obi made it.

With the death of Ojukwu, Peter Obi became the face of APGA.

And in 2013, Okwute led APGA campaigns for a completely unknown Obiano. Because of his sterling performance as an APGA governor, he raised Obiano’s hand at the campaign ground and our people responded positively. Obiano was voted to office because of Obi.

By 2017, Obi left APGA on the grounds of ingratitude. While leaving, he asked ndi Anambra to reject Obiano at the poll. At that difficult time for APGA, Senator Chief Victor Umeh stepped in to fill the gap. He took up the challenge and became the face of APGA.

He led negotiations and drafted grassroot players like Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and all the aggrieved political leaders from opposition political parties not leaving Bishops and other clergies into the project. Umeh also deployed his legal contacts to quash the order of Mandamus by an Enugu high court, which would’ve seen Oye chased out of APGA as the national chairman and Obiano denied the party’s ticket.

With Umeh and other key players at the saddle, the result of 2017 was resounding. It was 21/21 for Obiano.

Immediately after the victory, the Aguleri cabal served Umeh with the same plate and spoon that was used to dish for Peter Obi in 2014. Without waiting to the end of the victory party, Umeh was shoved aside.

The climax came to fore in 2019 general elections where all loyalists to Umeh including his political associates who purchased nomination forms to contest in different categories of election were all denied tickets. Those who made attempts were rigged out.

The gallant Umeh returned to his drawing table and came to attack during the APGA elective convention. He mobilised the aggrieved aspirants especially the defrauded ones from Imo state. He collated their petitions and forwarded same to gov Obiano with an accompanying email asking the governor to compel Oye to “refund and resign” from the party.

The famous email to the governor which leaked and was first published by AIF Media did not save the planned humiliation of Umeh. He was ignored. And on May 30, 2019 Victor Oye was returned and rewarded for bringing shame to APGA.

And Umeh who deceived Obi in 2013 and brought Obiano from backdoor was left to lick his wound. Umeh was dumped and forgotten. He tactically avoided both APGA and govt functions.

AIF Media authoritatively gathered that Umeh has warned all APGA noise makers, especially political groups campaigning for different aspirants not to near his house or invite him in all their “ojebe go” events.

Presently, it is difficult to establish if Umeh is still in APGA or on his way out.

That said. As we move closer to November 6 Anambra state governorship election, it is obvious that APGA has no leader to lead her campaign.

Is it Oye who brought shame to APGA in 2019 or gov Obiano who has betrayed all stakeholders that supported his electioni in both 2013 and 2017 that will lead APGA November 6 campaigns?

Who among the cabal has what it takes to lead APGA campaigns ~ none.

If you are still in APGA, you are only preparing to become an opposition politician from November 6.
