The State Chairman of PDP Anambra chapter Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu (Obuka Awka) has called on the women wing of the party to be exemplary ambassadors of PDP in any given situation. The call to be of good conduct according to the chairman became necessary following the need for seriousness in view of the gubernatorial election scheduled for Nov 6, 2021.
The women leaders from the 21 council areas of Anambra State had convened for their routine meeting at the state secretariat in continuation of plans to mobilize massively and sensitize the general public on the need to embrace good governance. The state chairman was invited to come and address the meeting given that the women and Anambra citizens have become tired of the excruciating economic situation under the supervision of the ruling party APGA.
Hon Sir Ndubisi Nwobu who joined the women leaders soon after he rose from a crucial meeting with the LGA chairmen was quite vocal in educating them on the essence of maintaining good conduct, absolute loyalty to superior officers of the party and respect for party directives.
More to that, he enjoined them to lead the womenfolk within their various constituencies by example, considering that a lot of people are looking up to them for guidance and wise counsel. He informed them that people are only willing to follow leaders who inspire their followers, noting that sane people are interested in success, and victory is the hallmark of all successful endeavors.
Obuka Awka continued by informing the women leaders that the party will not tolerate a situation whereby exco members are seen campaigning for aspirants, arguing that aspirants can never provide enough support to bid farewell to hunger, but good leadership through a governor elected by all can deliver democracy dividends which includes improved livelihoods.
He concluded by saying that henceforth, meetings for women leaders should be convened early enough to enable them get home early for other pressing obligations. He also cautioned them to always synergize with the LGA chairmen to ensure harmonious and progressive results, which is critical to election victory.
The women were unanimous in describing Obuka as God sent considering his wealth of knowledge, display of good character and resilience in the face of endless litigations and other challenges facing a determined opposition leader.
The State Woman Leader Comr Justina Nwafor expressed appreciation for the chairman’s ability to honour the invitation in spite of his very busy schedule and promised him that the women leaders under her watch would henceforth imbibe and apply his lofty directives in whatever they do.
