ACTDA Successfully Reclaims Government/School Land in Amansea, Dismantles Obstructing Structure at Amawbia Access Road

On August 9, 2023, the Solution Team of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) achieved a significant feat by reclaiming a government-owned land that housed the Eziogbo community school. The land had been allegedly encroached upon by a land speculator at Okukwa Amansea and subsequently relocated to Amawbia, right opposite Dunamis Church. The enforcement team took action by dismantling perimeter walls that obstructed access to a substantial portion of the land.

Reports gathered by I-Witness.ng reveal that the illicit speculator not only demolished the school’s facilities but also subdivided the land, selling off the parcels to various buyers.

During discussions about the operation, Hon. Osita Onuko, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ACTDA, emphasized that prior warnings had been issued to the individuals involved before they developed the land.

It is imperative for our citizens to adopt the practice of consulting relevant ministries or agencies to validate the authenticity of any land they intend to purchase or develop.”

Furthermore, he admonished developers to strictly adhere to approved construction guidelines to help realize Governor Soludo’s vision of creating a thriving and prosperous Anambra state.
