Adamawa’s Suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner Goes Missing, INEC Raises Alarm

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has revealed that Hudu Yunusa Ari, the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Adamawa state, has disappeared without a trace.

Yunusa Ari is reported to be on the run after illegally declaring the All Progressives Congress’s Aisha Binani as the winner of the state’s governorship election while collation was still ongoing.

INEC’s National Commissioner, Festus Okoye, stated that the electoral body is unaware of Yunusa Ari’s whereabouts, and despite writing and calling him, they have not received any response. The possibility of declaring Yunusa Ari wanted now rests with the Nigerian police.
