Hon. Tony Nwoye has done so much for the establishment of Federal University of Education at Nsugbe. He was canvassing the conversion of Nwafor Orizu College of Education to a federal University of education.
After Obiano expressed interest in his home town hosting it, he approached Sen. Stella Oduah to pursue it in the National Assembly, but Oduah said the better option was to support Hon. Tony Okoye in his own efforts.
Disappointed, Obiano at that time gave Sen. Victor Umeh N315 Million Naira to pursue the establishment of a Federal University at Aguleri. Even when Umeh was representing the Central, he started pushing for the establishment of a Federal University at Aguleri. He even went to the extent of sponsoring a motion on that. Many people were confused when this was happening, because they were not aware of the background. Having retired the N315 Million given him, which he said was shared among some members of the house, they promised Umeh that it would be added. This was how the original Nsugbe project failed. So in actual sense, what he achieved was the changing of Nsugbe proposed town to Aguleri, because of money.
As I write, Hon. Tony Nwoye is still at it, meeting the right people. As soon as Gov. Willie Obiano was informed that Tony was making progress he started fencing a large expense of land at Aguleri, with the hope of building some structures. Obiano’s plan is to make a case for an already existing structure at Aguleri, so that if approval is eventually secured, the institution will be moved from Nsugbe to Aguleri.
This is exactly what Obiano did with zone 13th of the police. Prince Arthur Eze was not initially interested in where it would be located, but while he was busy securing approval, Obiano was scheming for it to be located in Aguleri and he spent over half a billion for that. When it failed, he wrote a letter to the police, telling them so many bad things about Arthur Eze but they gave Arthur the copies of the letter and revealed to him the movement of Ghana Must Go bags from Anambra State.
Right now, even when Awka does not have a functional Water scheme, Obiano is building one at Aguleri.
This is what we have in Anambra state as our Governor.
