Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), Monday hosted the Local Government Deputy Chairmen and Ward Deputy Chairmen of the People’s Democratic Party in the 21 LGAs and 326 wards of Anambra State.
The meeting was in line with her aspiration to contest the 2021 Governorship election under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
Speaking at the event, Senator Ekwunife who sort the support of the deputy Chairmen towards the realization of her ambition, noted that the 2021 Governorship election presents an opportunity for PDP to reclaim its position as the first choice political party for Ndi Anambra.
She stated that the party must consider the capacity, experience and the personality of the person they elect as candidate in order to stand a chance of winning the next Governorship election.
Ekwunife assured the deputy Chairmen who are statutory delegates for the primaries of her determination to position PDP as a formidable political party in the State, if given the opportunity to fly the party’s flag come 2021.
On their part, the deputy Chairmen while expressing their confidence in the Senator’s ability to lead the party to victory, appreciated her for considering them a valuable partner in her project and assured of their support.
