With all these court cases here and there in this year’s Anambra gubernatorial election as result of the crises currently threatening the success of this election, any candidate that emerges victorious from these big parties will deep hands into Anambra state treasury in order to offset the expenses wasted in this tug of war. And it is painful that it is the poor masses that will suffer for this at last.
The amount of money spent by big parties in Nigeria elections is one of the reasons for their poor performances. That’s why they promise you heaven and earth and end up doing nothing. That’s why they send our money abroad and save it for funding future elections.
They take our money to lawyers, judges, police, military and INEC ad hoc staff in order to win elections instead of facing the electorates with their manifestos. Some go as far as bribing some traditional rulers, bishops, clergies, pastors and youth leaders in order to deceive their followers into casting their votes for wrong candidates. Some can go as far as provoking God by telling their church members never to vote for a good candidate from another church. These are the reasons why Anambra State has not moved forward. People are suffering in this state and nobody from government is seen anywhere around us to attend to our needs. What we need now a governor among us, not imported governor. It’s very wrong for someone who has no investment in this state to be voted as our governor. The truth is that these people are not for our welfare. They are just after our federal allocation.
We the youths have to stand up and say no to these anomalies. The time has come for us to take our destiny into our own hands. It our right to say we don’t need their services any longer.
If these big parties cannot be honest enoy to organise simple primaries to produce good and reputable candidates, how do you think such party can keep our state united for the next four years if elected. Voting for these parties is like voting for Anambra in crisis because they are ready to continue with going to court even beyond November 6.
As a BOOT Party candidate, we don’t have any problem. It is a peaceful party mainly for youths and women. I did not borrow any money to get to this stage. I did not commit myself financially to anyone. Only the little money I paid to my party to get the nomination form is from my daily income. I paid no bribe to anyone. I don’t have and will never have any godfather. I am not in court with anyone. So electing me your governor will save Anambra State a lot of money. The moment, I am elected, work will start immediately. I will start giving employment and paying minimum wage immediately.
The type of governor Anambra state needs now is not a rich man. What we need now is an educated middle class man like Akanu Ibiam, Michael Okpala and Jim Nwobodo. And I am one of those that are in this category. Being a middle class man, I will be closer to both the poor and the rich. I will understand the poor very and be able to attend to their needs.
Anambra state needs a lot of money to turn things around in the state and the resources available may not be sufficient enough to fix those problems. It is obvious that Anambra state is blessed with a lot of wealthy men both at home and in diaspora. It is only a middle class man who is the governor of the state that can humble himself to recognise and attract these people to assist the state to move forward.
When elected, I will work with everybody especially the past governors, senators, and ministers from the state irrespective of their political or religious affiliations. because their advice, prayers and support will help to strengthen our government
