Ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, it is true that Ndi Anambra have beamed their searchlight towards getting a right candidate that will succeed the incumbent Governor Willie Obiano at the government house in Agu Awka. Without sentiment, preference and unbiased observations, the searchlight is beaming large at Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo, a PDP aspirant for the Anambra top job.
Reports after report gathered by the Ezeemo Media Team from various quarters in the State have consistently shown that going by the situation of things, the time is favorably disposed towards Ezeemo as the next Governor of Anambra (Light of the Nation State). Simply put, Ezeemo is the toast of the time ahead of the 2021 guber poll.
From relevant political quarters such as the grassroots – commoners both in the cities, urban and rural areas, opinion leaders to major relevant stakeholders across the State, the name ‘Ezeemo’ is like a shelter in the storm. Yes, the good people of the State are comfortably at home with the Umuchu born businessman, industrialist and philantropist who is Chairman/CEO Orient Group of Companies.
First, they see Ezeemo as not one of the political desperadoes seeking for opportunity to be governor with nothing much to show as what they will bring to bear but as one who is prepared to provide service of good governance to the people. Second, by correlating the massive achievements of Ezeemo as a businessman, they see him as one who have enough exposure, experience, capacity and capability to lead Ndi Anambra.
Third, they see him as one who can replicate the kind of services rendered to the State by former Governor Peter Obi. Four, is that Ndi Anambra are having a bad time under the present administration and the person who is capable to redeem the situation by giving them the kind of good governance they so desire is Ezeemo.
Five, they believe that the PDP aspirant who had run the race for the government house twice has not just known Anambra too well but also have a strong concern for a better condition of things in the State and is well prepared to serve the people creditably well.
A political observer Christo Nwandu, in Awka had this to say “Ezeemo is better than all those people gallivanting all over the place that they want to be Governor. Most of them don’t even have a shop anywhere in Anambra, so what service can someone who doesn’t have anything to show as experience in terms of business going to do at the government house to manage people living in ocean of business like Ndi Anambra State?
“What evidence does such persons have to prove that he is capable of managing the human and economic resources of the State, when he has no outstanding business to show as what he has managed or managing at the present?
