The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Through The Returning officer for the Anambra November 6th and 9th governorship election, Professor Florence Obi has announced Professor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, the winner of the 2021 Anambra State Governorship Election having polled the highest votes out of the total valid votes cast.
Professor scored 112,229 votes to emerge the winner while the runners up, Valentine Ozigbo of the People’s Democratic Party PDP pulled 53,807 and Andy Ubah of APC scored 43,285 to come second and third respectively.
Professor Soludo won 19 out of the 21 local government areas in Anambra state as the election was concluded with Ihiala local government area supplementary election held on 9th of November 2021.
The result was signed by all the party agents present except for the APC agent Chief Chibuzor Obiako who refused to sign the result on the ground that he don’t believe in what was done.
Although Chief Obiakor refused to sign the form EC8 D, he however attested that the process in his polling unit was free, fair and transparent.
For Senator Victor Umeh who served as APGA state agent, the mandate was given to Soludo by Ndi Anambra expressing believe that he would perform excellently well as to whom much is given, much is expected.
Senator Umeh went further to commend the INEC for a wonderful job done in Anambra stating that Anambra election is one of the most transparent ever conducted.
He also commended the security agencies and the media for the roles they played in making the exercise a smooth and peaceful one.
Senator Victor Umeh maintained that he expected other candidates to congratulate Soludo and as well join hands in building a more prosperous and progressive Anambra state
