Anambra Central Senatorial Zone: How It Stands

Anambra Central Senatorial Zone has 7 LGAs namely;  Anaocha, Njikoka, Dunukofia, Awka north, Awka south, Idemili south and Idemili north. Presently, APGA has 3 senatorial aspirants and they are;

1. Chief Victor Umeh

2. Hon Dozie Nwankwo

3. Mr Uzuegbunam Okagbue

Three of them are seriously pushing to secure the support of APGA delegates from these 7 local governments. Our investigation shows that while Chief Umeh is sure of Anaocha LG, Dozie Nwankwo is in firm control of Njikoka, Idemili south and Awka south LGA. Uzu Okagbue is at home with Dunukofia and Idemili north LGA, while Awka north is undecided.

This is major reason Umeh is going from one LGA to another buying up endorsement. But the facts before us is that Dozie Nwankwo and Uzu Okagbue are ahead. Most of the party leaders and members prefer them to Umeh.

They want a fresh breath. Umeh can not defeat Iyom in any election and there is no need allowing him to waste the APGA ticket for Anambra central again.

Most APGA members AIF Media spoke to in these 7 LGAs say, they prefer Dozie or Uzu to lead them against PDP in 2023.
