Anambra Deputy Governor, Ibezim, Receives New Police Commissioner, Adeoye

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, has reiterated the commitment of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration to collaborate with security agencies in the state to enhance the security apparatus and ensure the safety of residents.

The Deputy Governor made this assurance during a meeting with the newly appointed Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, on behalf of Governor Soludo, at the Government House in Awka.

Deputy Governor Ibezim emphasized that the security of lives and property is a top priority for the current administration. He pledged to maintain a good working relationship between the state government and the police, as well as other security agencies, to ensure that the people of Anambra State can freely engage in their lawful activities without any form of harassment.

Dr. Ibezim commended the appointment of Mr. Adeoye as the new Commissioner of Police, describing him as a perfect fit for the position based on his experience in various units of the Nigeria Police Force. He expressed optimism that the security network in Anambra State will be strengthened under Adeoye’s leadership.

In his response, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeoye, stated that his primary objective is to serve the people of Anambra State selflessly and leave no stone unturned in the fight against crime and criminality. He assured that the state police command, under his watch, will adhere to the highest ethical standards of the profession and contribute to solving the security challenges faced by the residents.


Adeoye acknowledged the industrious nature of the people of Anambra State and emphasized the importance of providing a safe and secure environment for them to thrive. He pledged to build upon the achievements of his predecessor and warned that there will be no room for miscreants seeking to disrupt the peace and security of the state.

In a vote of thanks, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, expressed appreciation to the Anambra State government for its unwavering support to the state police command in the fight against insecurity. He assured that the command will not disappoint the government and people of the state in their efforts to maintain law and order.
