When it comes to acceptability across the political divide and grassroots support there are distinct lines that exist between Ekwunife and other aspirants jostling to clinch their respective party tickets. This past weeks has been akin to tsunami of endorsements from many Stakeholders in the state and still basking in the warm air of endorsements, the leading aspirant for the November 6 governorship election under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Uche Ekwunife was on Sunday, May 30, 2021, endorsed to become the next governor of the state by Hon. Moses Chigozie Anene
Hon. Anene otherwise known as Moses Of Our Time declared his stand when he hosted Ekwunife at PDP Awka South Constituency II secretariat, Nibo.
Speaking, Hon. Anene described Ekwunife as the party’s most marketable political commodity, adding that she is a gift to humanity. He assured Ekwunife that both him, his political structure and other delegates in all the wards that make up the Constituency II will work towards her victory at the party primary and the main election.
The PDP House of Assembly Candidate in the last elections noted that with Ekwunife as the candidate of the party, that the PDP flag will fly again in Agu Awka. According to him, Ekwunife is a woman of enormous grace and a big masquerade in the Nigerian politics.
While assuring of his maximum support, Hon. Anene said that in Ekwunife Ndi Anambra will have an effective and efficient governor. He mentioned many road projects attracted by Ekwunife to the constituency as well as other programmes which include, facilitation of grants, scholarship for indigent students, employment for youths etc.
In her remarks, Ekwunife appreciated the convener of the meeting for finding her worthy, adding that the endorsement will bring positivity to the people of the state. Ekwunife said that the state needs someone that will move it forward.
The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator further said that she has huge experience to become the next governor, urging all to come onboard because the party with her as the candidate will dislodge the present political party in Agu Awka.
Ekwunife, who decried the present status of the state capital promised that she will make it a befitting capital city and revolutionise the state by creating a robust local economy and an enabling environment for commerce and industries to meet up its expectations.
While commending the Stakeholders of the Constituency who she described as responsible and awesome personalities, the A-grade lawmaker promised that on the areas the present government has done well that she will bolster and strengthen on it while in areas the administration has performed badly she will re-strategize and refine for the betterment of the state.
Ekwunife however further advised on the need for everybody to be aware of their environment, saying that we are in an unconventional period and people should identify their neighbours and report suspicious activities to the security operatives.
On his part, the member representing Anaocha Constituency II in ASHA, Hon. Ebele Ejiofor commended Hon. Anene for taking the bold step by endorsing Ekwunife. He recalled some of the interventions of Ekwunife in many communities like the Nanka erosion control and described her as an amazing woman.
Speaking, Chief Vincent Odum popularly known as African Chief said that it’s been long he identified Ekwunife as an uncommon politician, saying that she will be a candidate to beat in the upcoming gubernatorial election. He thanked the convener and the entire members of the Constituency for always supporting Ekwunife’s aspirations. Chief Odum assured that the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology will do well as a governor.
Notably present were the former Deputy Governor of Anambra state, HE Chief Abolle Okoyeagu (Odenjinji Awka), some former House of Assembly candidates, Hon Prestige Okafor and Hon Elijah Uchenna Okafor. PDP Woman leader Awka South, Mrs. Dora Oguocha, several LGA and ward executives of the party amongst others.
