Essential Ndubuisi

The Anambra State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, in the early hours of Tuesday, 2nd March, 2021 cleared Onisi Onira Garden, Boromeo Round About, Onitsha, of few mentally challenged individuals who inhabit the area and constitute nuisance to residents and passers by.
The operation which was led by the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue and a team of professionals from Social Welfare Department of the ministry, succeeded in rescuing two mentally challenged young men.
Consequently, the men were transported to Awka, where the Honorable Commissioner, personally introgated the men, while one gave his name as Obinna from Mbano in Imo State, the other was incoherent and couldn’t say anything meaningful.
Lady Mezue eventually cleaned them up, before onward movement to Nteje Home for the mentally challenged, where they will be cared for, rehabilitated and equipped with skills before being reintergrated back to society.
