Anambra North APGA Senatorial Aspirant, Sam Onwuteaka Jnr Rolls Out Plan For Constituency

Frontline Aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance for Anambra North Senatorial seat, Sam Onwuteaka Jnr has rolled out plans for his constituency.

He wrote:

“AN APPEAL OF HOPE”

My Manifesto:

Dear good people of Anambra North; Do we participate in politics of cynicism? Or, do we participate in Politics of Hope?

The Hope of Ndi Anambra seated round a fireplace singing Freedom and posterity songs;

The Hope of a Child from Okpoko in Ogbaru LGA, having basic amenities to rise to any level;

The Hope of a Mother who goes to the Market place anticipating to return home with food to feed her family;

The Hope of a Father who toils night and day so his family may eat;

It’s the hope of hundreds of Youths in Onitsha who roam the street in search of manna;

This is the hope of a young man who dares to defy the odds believing that Nigeria has a place for the Igbo man;

Hope in the face of Difficulty;
Hope in the face of Uncertainty;
Hope in the face of Despair;
THE AUDACITY OF HOPE!

I believe that Anambra will reclaim its promise and out of this long political darkness, a brighter day will come, for this is our Exodus to the promise Land.

My dearest Anambra North; I come in Peace with good developmental intentions.

My representation will holistically address the following Challenges;

(A) Medical Intervention for The Children, Pregnant Women And the Elderly.

(B) Security

(C) Affordable Education

(D) Early Education

(E) Affordable Housing
Scheme for Civil Servants

(F) Agriculture

(G) ICT

(H) Transportation

(I) Tourism

As the saying goes “He who has health has Hope, and he who has hope has everything”… good health is a vital part of life that needs maximal attention.

MEDICAL INTERVENTION: we will ensure that health care delivery will receive lofty priority through the engagement of bills and policies that will lead to the upgrade of health facilities for the benefits of the indigent, most importantly; the elderly, the pregnant women and children.

The state of pronounced lack of coordination, fragmentation of health services, inadequate and decaying infrastructure and very deplorable quality of health delivery in Anambra North will be restructured through robust legislative engagement in the Red Chamber.

Healthcare will be accessible and Affordable.

SECURITY INTERVENTION: Under Security we shall probe: Social security and conventional security.

Sue Phillips quotes: “So many people Don’t think about HOME SECURITY, until it’s too late, until after someone has broken into their homes, that’s when we get the call”. Ndi Anambra we will not fold our hands and watch until our homes are broken.. Security discuss is a priority.

In Social security, we will identify the tax loopholes in Anambra North and in turn use same funds generated to carter for the retirees and Elderly. Social security for the elderly (60 and above) can be a reality. Our aim is to ensure the aged and retirees are cared for as we hope they live healthier and longer . We should also have it boldly encrypted on the walls of our hearts that; “Aging is Natural and that is going to happen to all of us”.

In reviewing Conventional security, we will examine the present ongoing worsening security challenge in the society, which is quite disheartening. It is observed that as more solutions are proffered, it looks as though no efforts were made. It is no fresh tale to us all, as we are witnesses of the happenings spread all-over social media, newspapers etc. resulting from Insecurity issues ravaging the society.

But there is a solution, The one man , the one voice, with his vast thriving experiences in Security issues with viably recorded successes; The one man who has passion for the safety of the masses first. The one man whose watch-word is ‘Humanity First”. 17years of handling security matters fruitfully is not mere witticism… The one man who has brought out himself to serve the masses, Hon Sam Onwuteaka Jnr; is willing to put an abrupt STOP to these insecurity challenges with strategically mapped out plans involving, the Federal Government.

Hon Sam Onwuteaka Jnr has the capacity to end the long term kinetic approach to the issue of security ravaging the southeast with a non-Kinetic approach. This is where Human Capital Development plays a vital role as a necessary tool and deterrence to insecurity.

The Igbo man is not nomadic and hence does not live in the bush. If the youths are properly engaged, human capital development will resort to the youths leaving the bush and the streets with enthusiasm to rechanneling same energy to serving his community.

AFFORDABLE EDUCATION:: as the saying goes: “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. This will encourage the many indigents that are out of school due to financial challenges to enroll back.

This scheme intends to reduce the tuition fee paid by students to a minimal-rate affordable, with further targets to giving free textbooks. This is achievable through Federal Government Intervention.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.

EARLY EDUCATION: “The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn”.

There is no doubt that the implementation of Early Childhood Education requires the collaborative effort/input of all stakeholders, including the government, parents/guardians, and school authorities. While the government is expected to provide necessary teaching and learning resources, the availability of relevant age-grade, pupils, and the cooperation of parents/guardians in enrolling their children/wards cannot be overemphasized. My representation will make this a priority. I have also started actively serving my society by issuing out scholarships to encourage early education.
“Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world”.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING SCHEME FOR CIVIL SERVANTS: Habitat for Humanity knows that a safe, decent, affordable home is fundamental to a family forging a path out of poverty. In a Habitat house, families find better health, more financial freedom, independence, a stability and security that far too many families simply can’t achieve without a helping hand.

The need for affordable housing is immense, and the lasting impact it can have on homeowners and their families is undeniable.
This has been an outstanding issue in the government, overlooked for the past years. Making available structures for government staff to live in at a very affordable rate is a scheme we intend to bring to reality during my representation.

AGRICULTURE: Agriculture is the backbone of the economic system of a given country. In addition to providing food and raw material, agriculture also provides employment opportunities to a very large percentage of the population.

The need for Agriculture cannot be over-emphasized. We plan to encourage large scale farming by issuing soft loans to farmers and establishing a monitoring structure to ensure the loan given is put to good use. We hope to export in large quantities the harvested products. This is attainable through Federal Government Intervention.

With the newly discovered oil in Anambra State, we will probe further to ascertaining its success story, as this will attract foreign trade/Investors and lots more, it will also reduce unemployment rate.

ICT: Information and communication technology (ICT) has contributed immensely to social and economic improvements, such as higher employment and productivity, increasing access to a higher quality of life. We are in the 21st century where everything is digitalized.

ICT permeates all aspects of life, providing newer, better and quicker ways for people to interact, network, seek help, gain access to information and learn. It has an immense economic significance. We have eluded the manual world giving way to the digital world. Every structure will imbibe the use of new technologies and online services. This will increase the efficiency of workers, promote innovation and improve educationa.
ICT can be a catalyst to employment, income generation and poverty reduction; It enables people and enterprises to capture economic opportunities by increasing process efficiency, promoting participation in expanded economic networks and creating opportunities for employment. This is a key sector we will explore during my representation.

TRANSPORTATION : our people are very commercial/industrial, hence; the need to revisit the various means of transportation as it relates to Economic Development of the Anambra North and the State at large.

In today’s time, this has become one of the important parts of human life and it is interwoven with Economic Development. Every business is in one way or another connected with this economic activity and it directly influences their functioning or performance. In simple words, the organization relies on the transportation system completely for better and timely delivery of their services and products.
It helps in meeting the demands of the customers of the business effectively through mass production which is possible through the timely supply of raw materials and proper distribution of finished goods.

Anambra is a commercial state as I earlier mentioned. It is totally unacceptable to have the rail track system stop before the Niger. It is very possible to make sure the rail track system goes round the south eastern region by proper Engagement with the Executives.

Dredging in the Niger is also a vital part to look into, when it is well utilized; can generate income for the government and can reduce the rate of unemployment in the state.

Not many people understand the importance of dredging, the major role that they have played in the development of the world’s economic trade system, and the role that they continue to play in our global economy. However, dredging are used for a number of essential processes such as waterway navigation, aquaculture, environmental remediation, land restoration, land development, and many other applications – including mining.

Typically, the general population sees dredging as an underwater vacuum cleaner, and most commonly associates it with port or waterway maintenance. And it is true that without the development of port systems around the world, the global economy would not have grown. In the United States, port systems create approximately 13 million jobs, all of which in some way have been touched by dredging. It also is worthy to mention that many countries rely on dredging for their military to maintain navigable channels for their naval fleets. It could be argued that no other single factor has prompted continual growth of the world’s nations – both in their economies and in their nations’ overall well-being. Without port systems, the only form of trade would be the barter system. Without proper funding, port systems would decline, along with the region’s overall economy.
With the help of Federal Government we will promote port activities in the riverine areas of Anambra North. The inland water way activities will be rejuvenated to enhance the transportation of farm produce.

Airports are important to a community because they provide local businesses with access to the global market. They help retain and attract business to a community and thus provide jobs and economic prosperity for the area. Without adequate maintenance of the newly opened airport it might lead to its dormancy which we all don’t pray for. We can take advantage of aviation to boost economic/commercial activities within the state.

TOURISM: Some areas of Anambra North are actually tourist sites, the Ogbunike cave for instance with the Intervention of Federal government can attract tourist round the globe.
The main cave consists of a massive structure with a big open chamber of about 5m high, 10m wide and 30m long at the entrance.

Beyond their storied history as a place of refuge, the Ogbunike caves have an important spiritual heritage that dates back many years before the white man first set foot on African soil, to a time when they worshiped in its darkest recesses.

It is said that the Ogbunike caves were discovered by 4000 years ago by a man named Ukwa, from the Umucheke family of Ifite-Ogbunike.

This is a lucrative tourist site that will attract international figures, and this is attainable with the aid of Federal Government intervention.

We need A voice that will champion all the above-mentioned, and that voice is that of Hon, Sam Onwuteaka Jnr, the ‘Servant Leader’.

With these notable antecedents;

I am aspiring to becoming the next Senator to represent Anambra North in the 10th National Assembly.

I solicit your support to actialising this vision that is driven by passion.
