Anambra Police Command Parades Sixteen Suspects For Murder, Rape, Armed Robbery And Other Criminal Activities

Anambra State Police Command has paraded sixteen suspects for various crime.

The suspects, who were paraded at the Police Command Headquarters, Awka, were arrested at different locations in the state for various crimes including, murder, rape, child trafficking, armed robbery, bag snatching among others.

The suspects, Chukwuemeka Obijiofor, aged twenty-eight, from Ofufe Nza Village, Ozubulu, allegedly killed his wife and only child with a shovel on the 26th of January, 2021, while one Mrs Uju Uba, aged forty-two, was nabbed for child trafficking and operating a baby factory syndicate in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

Another Suspect, Mr Linus Ajaba from Abagana, aged sixty-eight years was alleged to have defiled a nine year old girl, Chinecherem Odurukpe from Ihiala, aged ninteen years and an underaged boy.

Parading the suspects, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, AIG John Abang represented by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Haruna Mohammed, reassured Ndi Anambra, that the force will ensure that the status of state as the safest in Nigeria will not be cut short by the intents and activities of criminals.

Mr Abang also encouraged people to be security conscious at all times and to report any strange observation or suspicious movements to the security agencies for prompt response.

Items recovered from the suspects include one berretta pistol, one locally made pistol and one shovel.
