Anambra State Commissioner Emphasizes the Crucial Role of Data in Attracting Donor Support for Government Policies

Engr. Dr. Felix Odimegwu, the Anambra state commissioner for Environment, stresses the significance of data in planning and attracting international donor agencies’ support for government policies and programs. Speaking at a national workshop organized by the Federal Ministry of Environment on the rollout of Integrated National Environmental Health Surveillance System (INEHSS) in Awka, Odimegwu highlights the importance of accurate data as a pathway for successful project implementation.

The capacity training workshop for Environmental Health Officers at the State and LGA levels was supported by the World Health Organization (WHO) through its Regional Disease Surveillance Systems Enhancement (REDISSE) program. The training aims to leverage mobile apps for accurate data collection, analysis, and dissemination to support development programs in Anambra state.

Dr. Odimegwu emphasizes that real-time data collection with the mobile app will greatly benefit the Ministry of Environment and Governor Soludo’s led government in planning and executing environmental projects. The availability of reliable data will enhance decision-making and improve the implementation of environmental initiatives in the state.
