Anambra State Government Inaugurates Thirteen Man Panel Of Inquiry On Omor/Anaku Boundary Dispute

Anambra state government has today being the 27th of May, 2021, inaugurated a thirteen man panel of inquiry into the Omor and Anaku boundary dispute.

The panel is to complete its assignment within a month.

The panel has Retired Air Vice Marshall Ben Chiobi as its Chairman, and Mrs Chinyere Nwabachili as the Secretary.

Members of the panel are, the Attorney General of Anambra state, Dr Uju Nwogu, Mr Alex Onukwue, Chief Paul Odenigbo, Chief Tony Chinedu, Mr Emma Makwudo, and Chief Ifeanyi Ajoku.

Others include, President General of Anaku community, Mr Friday Nwuba, his Omor counterpart, Mr Benjamin Chukwuemaka, Omor youth leader, Mr Peter Ananti, and that of Anaku, Dr Chukwuemaka Iloanya.

Its terms of reference include, to establish immediate and remote cause of the crisis that occurred between Anaku and Omor communities, to write and interview the families and communities that claim ownership of the disputed land, and to establish the boundary between Anaku and Omor communities.

Other reference include, to recommend other possible solutions that will guarantee lasting peace in the area, and to conclude its assignment within one month, and submit the report to the government on or before 30th June, 2021.

Governor Willie Obiano was represented by his Deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke at the event which was held at the Government House Awka.
