Essential Ndubuisi

It is now 17 days since the gubernatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra State was held, and for which a candidate was declared in Mr Valentine Ozigbo for the November 6th main election. Whoever thought that one of the aspirants, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu, would spend time ruing the missed chance such that it could discourage him from further performing his overwhelming legislative duties as a federal lawmaker should better have a rethink.
For one, it has always been a hardcore fact that the workaholic lawmaker representing dear people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency is not in the political arena for self aggrandisement or eye services, rather for a genuine quest to serve the interest of the people, using the available instrumentality of good governance.
Moreover, Mr. Project’s aspiration to govern Anambra, quoting him verbatim, was borne out of a “burning desire to lead a development drive that would propel her to enviable economic and development heights.”
Therefore, the disappointment that he might have experienced in the failed attempt to emerge a governorship flag bearer of PDP in the race to replace the incumbent incompetent governor, HE Willie Obiano, other than becoming a source of discouragement to him has propelled his genuine development drive to high Heavens – of course, for the greater benefit of the good citizenry!
The evidence with which to justify this very assertion is one of the Bills he sponsored titled, “National Innovation Agency Establishment Bill 2020”.
This Bill which seeks to provide the establishment and management of a National Innovation Eco-System for the encouragement and stimulation of research, innovation and scientific discoveries in Nigeria was yesterday Tuesday 13th July 2020 subjected to a Public Hearing at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja.
Meanwhile, this Bill once signed into law will see to the establishment of an agency for the exploitation and commercialization of the products of research and innovation to diversify and improve the economy for the benefit of all Nigerians.
Brethren, wherever it is said that Hon. Azubogu is the most prepared to serve the people in the political dispensation, better believe it because he is much more than capable to do policies and execute development plans that will better the living standards of the citizens and in the long run, the transformation of the society for good.
