—Says ‘Ekwunife’s Candidature Will Assure Victory For PDP’
The PDP House of Assembly Candidate for Njikoka 1 Constituency in the 2019 general elections, Hon. Engr. Prestige Ugochukwu Okafor has described Senator Uche Ekwunife as an aspirant with huge political and social capital to clinch not only the party ticket, but going forward win the November 6 governorship election. He said that Ekwunife is a winnable candidate who has the experience and antecedents to return the party to Agu Awka.
Speaking during his official declaration for the A-grade Senator, Hon. Engr. Okafor noted that both the party delegates and stakeholders know that Ekwunife has the antecedents and rooted grassroots support needed to win the upcoming gubernatorial election.
On the theme of the declaration: “IYOM – The Truth, The Way and The Win” Hon. Okafor stated that celebration is assured for the party with Ekwunife on the ballot, stressing that her candidature remains the way PDP will triumph over other political parties.
Amidst cheers, the convener of the meeting who is otherwise known as Ugo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri while recalling his experience during the last elections noted that it was on the day Ekwunife led his campaign train to Nkwo market that she promised to build market stalls for the market women, adding that she has fulfilled her promise to the community.
The meeting which was held at Uruogbo Village Hall Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka LGA had in attendance dignitaries such as the former deputy governor of Anambra state, HE Chief Abolle Okoyeagu, Deputy Minority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Ebele Ejiofor, Respected PDP stakeholder, Chief Emeka Eze (Gburugburu na Umuawulu) amongst others.
Speaking, Ekwunife appreciated Hon. Okafor for the show of support, assuring not to let Ndi Anambra down if elected. She noted that she is running to steer the affairs of the state because she wants to change the face of governance.
The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator assured that she understands the dynamics, economy and peculiarities of the state, adding that she will transform all the sectors of the state. Ekwunife said that she has an implementable blueprint to achieve her plans for the state.
While promising that she will not betray the mandate of the people, the grassroots friendly Senator said that she will be fair, just and empathetic in all her dealings, adding that she has always made the party proud through her past electoral victories and representations.
In their separate remarks, the former member who represented Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency between 2003-2007, Hon. George Ozodinaobi and a Youth leader in the LGA, Mr. Solomon Obiekii reaffirmed that Ekwunife is the best amongst other aspirants. The duo noted that Ekwunife has done excellently well in both the business of lawmaking and attracting developmental projects to the people. According to Mr. Obiekii, Ekwunife is a selfless politician who has the interest of the people at heart. He assured that the people will work tirelessly to ensure that Ekwunife becomes the next governor.
Some of the stakeholders present include, Hon Victor Akachukwu (Njikoka PDP Vice Chairman), Chief Sylvester Onwudinjo (Akajiaku), Chief Vincent Enugwukwo Okonkwo, Hon Patrick Okafor, Hon Ejike Umeojiako, Mike Nwanwi, Chief Christopher Okafor amongst others.
