APC and Andy Uba are out of November 6 Anambra state governorship election – AIF Media

This is owing to the judgement of the Supreme court in case of Gov Rotimi Akeredolu of APC brought before the Apex court by Eyitayo Jegede of PDP.

In a split judgement in which 3 Supreme court Judges nuliffied the election of Gov Akeredolu with 4 Justices upholding his election, the Justices held that Malami Mai Buni, the governor of Yobe state can not hold a double position.

The Judges held that it was wrong for Mai Buni the governor of Yobe state to hold the position of acting National Chairman of APC.

They concluded that for Buni to have assigned the nomination forms of Gov Akeredolu as the candidate of APC in the Ondo Governorship election was wrong and violated section 183 of the constitution.

The 4 Judges who upheld the election of Gov Akeredolu said that the only reason they did so was because Mai Buni was not a party to the suit and that he was not given opportunity to defend himself.

With this judgement, APC and Andy Uba are out of the race. It is on record that Mai Buni signed the nomination forms of Andy Uba and forwarded same to INEC.

Once the error observed in the judgement of the Supreme court today in Ondo Governorship election is ratified and Mai Buni included as a party to any suit, then it is over.

APC Anambra should formally withdraw from the race.

Meanwhile, AIF Media has just been informed that the President has been notified of this latest development in London and that the party is awaiting further directive from him.
