APC Calls for Investigation of PDP Leaders Over Foiled Attack on Atiku Abubakar’s Residence

In response to the recent allegations made by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and interrogate PDP leaders regarding the foiled attack on the residence of the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

APC spokesman, Felix Morka, expressed his concerns in a statement on Tuesday night, stating that the PDP has been indulging in spreading lies and nonsensical claims following their defeat in the last Presidential Election.

Morka stated, “The PDP has alleged that suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorist group, who were arrested by the Police after their foiled plot to attack Atiku Abubakar’s residence in Yola, were sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC). We call on the Police, State Security Services (SSS), and other relevant security services to investigate the PDP’s baseless and unfounded allegations, invite the PDP’s leadership to substantiate these claims, and bring the perpetrators to justice.”

He further criticized the PDP for continuously politicizing matters of national security, emphasizing that acts of terror or involvement in a terrorist plot are serious crimes under the law and should not be used for political games.

“Atiku Abubakar is a citizen of Nigeria and deserves the fullest protection of the law. Our law enforcement authorities must protect and investigate any threat to his person, family, or assets and prosecute offenders,” Morka added.

Morka also expressed disappointment in the PDP’s lack of introspection and responsible conduct, choosing instead to engage in baseless accusations and misinformation. He urged the PDP to respect the legal process and await the verdict in the case they have brought challenging the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“While we vigorously defend our legitimate and popular election mandate in court, our Party will continue to win the hearts and minds of Nigerians through President Tinubu’s strategic program of social and economic development designed to improve the living conditions of our people,” Morka concluded.
