Former member representing Idemili North and South at the House of Representatives, Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezim, has stated that the All Progressives Congress( APC) is a party for the Igbos, calling on all well meaning ndi Anambra to join hands with the party to rescue the state from political brigandage and infrastructural decay.
Hon. Ibezim, who spoke on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, during the occasion of the defection of 74 APGA ward chairmen to the APC at Hollywood Event Centre, Awka stated that the time was ripe for everyone to join hands to develop Anambra state by playing national politics and embrace the infrastructural vision of the APC. He contended that what Anambra needs currently is a party that understands infrastructural development, adding that no party does infrastructure better than the APC.

” Anambra needs to play inclusive politics at the centre and drive development through that medium. This is why I have joined the APC, which is a party for progressive Ndigbo in order to join hands with fellow progressives to move Anambra forward. I encourage all who love the state to join the APC to ensure that the Light of the Nation isn’t left out. We have played politics of seclusion with APGA for years and it has left the state in a worrisome state, Ibezim, newly named Deputy Director General of the Senator Andy Uba Campaign Council stated.
Similarly, the State Chairman of the Party, Basil Ejidike, praised the courage of the 74 Ward Chairmen in leaving APGA for the APC, stating that history will never forget them for standing up for the state when it mattered most.
He reiterated that the APGA is not an Igbo party, stressing that if they were, the state wouldn’t have roads with infinite numbers of potholes, dilapidated schools and inefficient healthcare facilities.
The APC State Chairman further added that the APC is the true Igbo Party as it has done more roads in Anambra state than the APGA and has protected the welfare of the Igbo man more than the ruling party in the state with programmes such as the Cash Transfer to the Vulnerable, the Home School Feeding Programme, Anchor-Borrowers Programmes and various MSMEs Loan Schemes.
Also speaking at the event, Director-General of the Sen.Andy Uba Campaign Council, Sir Paul Chukwuma, stated that the 74 Chairmen who defected with some of their ward executives had taken the best decision in the interest of the state and would be celebrated by future generations to come.
Continuing, Sir Chukwuma stated that Sen. Andy Uba is a man they can trust and who will never betray his allies or go back on his word.
Sen. Uba who was ushered in by deafening shouts of Igwebuike by the excited crowd stated that he is in the race to make a difference and that the passion he has for development of the state is the reason why he is running to become governor.
Speaking further, the APC candidate stressed that he is the most experienced among those jostling to govern the state, with an advantage of having deep knowledge about the state than the rest.

He assured that he would develop all sectors of the state simultaneously if given the opportunity, adding that he is going to the grassroots to campaign and seeking the support of everyone because he believes that the election would be won at the polling units.
“Give me your support and I promise never to disappoint ndi Anambra”, he concluded.
The highlight of the event was the defection of the 74 APGA ward chairman to the APC, most defecting with their executives.
