Abagana, Anambra State – Barrister (Sir) Maduabu Chukwu Akudu (Ksc), an aspirant for the Chairmanship of Njikoka Local Government Area under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has presented his detailed manifesto to the people of Njikoka. A legal practitioner and businessman from Abagana, Barr. Akudu outlined his commitment to unity, prosperity, and peace for the local government area.
Vision for a United Njikoka
Speaking directly to the people, Barr. Akudu highlighted his vision for a peaceful and inclusive Njikoka, where every citizen has a voice and the opportunity to thrive. He stressed the need for a government that is transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of its people.
Key Objectives Outlined
In his manifesto, Barr. Akudu laid out several key objectives that would drive his administration if elected:
- Njiko-Nwanne Governing Council: Barr. Akudu plans to establish this council to ensure representation from all sectors of society. It will bring together traditional leaders, youth representatives, and key stakeholders for inclusive decision-making.
- Peace and Reconciliation Committee: He prioritizes peace and unity, proposing a committee to address and resolve conflicts within the community, laying the foundation for sustainable development.
- Agriculture and Business Support Scheme: With agriculture as the backbone of the local economy, Barr. Akudu pledges to support farmers with modern tools and market access while also promoting local businesses through loans and grants to create jobs.
- Grassroots Governance and Accountability: He vows to make governance participatory by engaging every ward and village through regular town hall meetings, ensuring that the people can hold leaders accountable.
- Youth Empowerment through Education and Skill Acquisition: Barr. Akudu aims to reinstate the traditional ‘igba-boy’ apprenticeship system while establishing vocational centers to train youths, giving them the skills needed for modern business and trade.
- Door-to-Door Healthcare Delivery: Aiming to make healthcare accessible to all, especially the elderly and vulnerable, Barr. Akudu proposes a door-to-door healthcare delivery system to reduce preventable illnesses and improve overall well-being in the community.
