Confusion trials the just delivered judgement of the Supreme court Abuja over the lingering leadership crisis in APGA. The camps of Ozo Victor Oye and Chief Edozie Njoku are jubilating and laying claims to the judgement.
Supreme court this afternoon dismissed the judgement of Jigawa state high court which declared Barr Jude Okeke as the acting National Chairman of APGA. Dismissing the judgement of the trial court, the Apex court said the judgement was a Forum Shopping.
With the dismissal of the judgement of Jigawa state high court, the camps of Oye and Edozie Njoku went into jubilation claiming victory.
Edozie Njoku who was joined by the Supreme court as an interested said he remains the authentic National Chairman of APGA since the Jigawa state high court judgement which the Supreme court dismissed was purely against his faction and not that of Oye.
He insists that Oye was not a party to the judgement of the Jigawa state high court. He maintained that Jude Okeke removed him as the national chairman of APGA and went to Jigawa state high court to legalize his action. He therefore said the Supreme court has vindicated him.
With the Jigawa judgement out. Edozie Njoku said the Federal high court Abuja which was mandated to conclude his application for Order of Mandamus against INEC can now move on and conclude the matter.
However, the camp of Oye has been everywhere with their claims to the victory. They argue that the Supreme court only upheld the judgement of the Appeal court Kano which favoured them.
But a member of Edozie Njoku faction who spoke to AIF Media said, “THE SUPREME COURT NULLIFIED JIGAWA AND ALL LIKE JUDGEMENTS, SAYING THAT NO COURT HAS POWER TO DETERMINE THE LEADERSHIP OF A POLITICAL PARTY BCOS IT’S THE INTERNAL AFFAIR OF THE PARTY. SO THEY RETURNED THE PARTY BACK TO STATUS QUO ANTE MEANING THAT CHIEF EDOZIE NJOKU IS THE LAWFUL NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF APGA. BUT WE ARE NOW BACK TO MANDAMUS CASE OF A.R. MOHAMMED FEDERAL HIGH COURT WHICH IS NOT A LEADERSHIP TUSSLE CASE BUT TO COMPEL INEC TO RECOGNIZE NJOKU AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN.”
With this controversy between Oye and Edozie Njoku, both may seek interpretation of the judgement from the Supreme court.
